251110 DDRCi November meeting: VK4JBE talks EMR
You need to know about EMR because knowledge could save your life. Understanding EMR can be the difference between a problem and a solution. It can be the difference between a harmonious relationship with a neighbour and an ongoing challenge. But most importantly, knowledge of EMR is vitally important to ensure that you’re operating within the conditions of your licence. All vital stuff.
At our November 2025 member meeting, John VK4JBE is coming up from Brisbane to lead us through this really critical topic.
John has developed an Amateur Radio Station EMR Safety Management Book and Guide to help you put together a record of your station’s EMR Safety Analysis.

And how about this: there will be a fun quiz on EMR Safety to help reinforce what you need to do. The quiz will come with bragging rights too, and maybe a prize for the best group performance.
You can attend this meeting in person (John will be!) or you can attend by telepresence using the link here which will take you to Teams for the event. Don’t forget that if anything changes on the day, this page will have the updated information and link.
We’ll also bring you up to date on what’s happening with the club, our plans for December, and bit of a review of the year.
As always: tea/coffee/bikkies will be available. And we will be taking orders for our next merch order, so if you’d like a new monogrammed shirt, or a club hat, come a long and register your order.
This is going to be a really good meeting, with practical outcomes that apply to every ham operator, whether you do shack, POTA, summits, EME or any other form of transmission.
The info again: Monday 10 Nov at 1900, at Scouts HQ 2 Victory Street Newtown (Toowoomba).
If you have any questions, send a note to and we’ll get back to you at the speed of light on at least one of the axes of the EMR diagram.
