On Monday 9 Nov: the DDRCi November Club Unboxing Experience!

Join us on Monday 9 November 2026 as we bring you an unboxing event like you’ve never seen before – and you’re invited.    We’re about to unleash the more of the amazing bequest from Chris Lyon VK4AIS (SK).    Chris’ last wish was that the Club should get his collection of gear, assembled over many years as he lived in UK, Australia and at sea.     It had all been meticulously packed for transport to his new home in Tara, but was never able to be deployed.   We’ve seen manifests (a bit) and we’ve unpacked some of it, but until now we’ve had nowhere to sort it.    So…

The time has come for us to unpack another tranche, and we’d like you to be part of the fun.

The aim is to start building a club station, so first thing is to decide what the club needs to keep and whether those items still work or need repairs.    There are lots of spare parts.   But there’s also way more than we need for a Harristown shack, and everyone who is present will have the opportunity to make an offer for surplus stuff.

We’ll start around 1900 at the Kanyana Guide Hut, 18A Memory Street Harristown.   The usual tea, coffee, timtams, nibbles and other beverages will be available, and you’re welcome to bring dinner along if that’s helpful.

Then it’s like opening presents under the tree:  we’ll go through the boxes until all have been opened and we can start to work out what’s treasure and what isn’t.  We know there will be old and new stuff.
