Our latest news

our radio and electronics club

Our Club is one which is charged under our Rules of Association to disseminate knowledge in radio and electronics. We seek to encourage enquiries about our hobby, and within our ranks you will find most facets of this hobby represented.

These include modern computer influences in contest logging, antennas, HF, VHF and UHF operation, construction, crystal sets, valve operation and much, much more. If you are interested in any part of this exciting hobby, you will find a kindred spirit in our Club. You will also find interesting lectures by club members and non club members at the Social / Technical Meetings, as well as various communication activities and occasional outings to places of interest. So if you are interested, why not come to our Social / Technical meeting? Check our calendar of events.

Why we love our hobby

Amateur radio is officially represented and coordinated by the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU), which is organized in three regions and has as its members the national amateur radio societies which exist in most countries. According to an estimate made in 2011 by the American Radio Relay League, two million people throughout the world are regularly involved with amateur radio.
